Call for art: summer vibes

CALL FOR ENTRIES: SUMMER VIBES

Exhibition Dates: June 6 - July 17

Location: Forks Area Art Society’s Cottage in the Woods: 700 Zucksville Rd, Easton, PA

Submission Deadline: May 29

Eligibility: This exhibit is open to artists who reside in the Lehigh Valley/Nazareth/Phillipsburg area. 

EXHIBITION THEME

We invite artists to submit works that capture the ephemeral essence of the spicy season. "Summer Vibes" seeks to explore the sensory experiences of summer: the blinding brilliance of the sun, the texture of sand on a crowded beach, the nostalgic haze of a backyard picnic, and the palpable intensity of mid-day heat. From vibrant landscapes to abstract interpretations of "the vibe," we are looking for work that radiates the energy, leisure, and light and  realities of summertime.

ELIGIBILITY & MEDIA

This call is open to all emerging and established artists in the Lehigh Valley area. We embrace a multi-disciplinary approach and encourage a wide variety of "fine art" interpretations:

2D Works: Painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, and digital art.

3D Works: Sculpture, ceramics, fiber arts, and mixed media installations.

Styles: All styles from hyper-realism to total abstraction are welcome, provided they align with the theme.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Google Form: Fill out the Google Form application found at www.hemlockart.com

Entry Limit: Artists may submit up to two  pieces for consideration.

Specifications: For 3D work, please include multiple views if necessary and specify weight and footprint.

IMPORTANT DATES

Deadline for Entry: May 29th

Notification of Acceptance: May 30th 

Opening Reception: June 6th 5 - 7 PM

Delivery of Artwork: June 2nd 5 - 8 PM

Firefly Solstice Event: June 27th 12 - 2:30 PM

Gallery Pick-up of Unsold Work: July 17th 9 - 11 AM 

SALES & COMMISSION

All work must be for sale.

100% of sales goes to the artist. There is a suggested donation of 10% of the sale to FAAS. 

Please ensure your submitted price includes this commission.

ENTRY FEE

Non-Members: $15- Up to 2 entries per artist.

FAAS Members: $10- Up to 2 entries per artist.
